I had such a fun time with artist Amanda Mauk recently, sharing a "sheltering in place" creative practice that I have developed in response to my limited art supplies at home. I have not been to my downtown art and therapy studio in many weeks now. I have very little to work with in terms of art supplies at home, but I have been very resourceful!
In the past year or so, playful art practices have felt increasingly important to me. While I love exploring the shadow aspects of myself and others through art and writing I also need an antidotal way to just play around in my sketchbook in order to lift up some of the heaviness that I am feeling in the world today.
Join me and Amanda as I demonstrate how I make my "collage landscapes" with all my bits of leftover collage papers. I use my "collage landscapes" as "doodle-starters" and we talk about the therapeutic benefits of detailed doodling too. It is going to be a fun art summit with lots of art demos that you can try at home while you are "sheltering in place.
